One partner must earn less than £12,570 and the other must be a basic-rate taxpayer (earning between £12,570 and £50,270).
How to claim
Apply online at GOV.UK. The transfer is applied automatically via your tax code for future years. You can also backdate a claim for up to 4 previous tax years.
